Useful advice for when you work in TYPO3

Give your elements headings

Always remember to give your elements headings so you can easily find them in the backend. If the heading should not be visible on the website, you can set it to be hidden.

Link Text

Avoid using "Learn more about" and "Click here" as link text. Instead, formulate link text that clearly describes where the link will lead.
 

File Management

It is important that you never upload any files to the directory called “ingen_mappe_valgt” (no_folder_chosen), but always place your files in a specific folder within your file list.

Clean Up

Remember to compress images before uploading and regularly delete old content.
TYPO3 is not an archive, so make sure to clean up.

Clear Cache

If the latest changes are not displaying correctly, you can clear the cache for your page by right-clicking on the page in the left menu in the backend and selecting "clear cache for this page." The page will then be displayed with the updated information.

 

Accessibility Requirements

  • Make sure that headings are precise and relevant to the following content.
  • Do not rely solely on colors to convey information. Add text descriptions explaining what the colors represent.
  • Write descriptive alt text for images.
  • Ensure that all videos have subtitles.

Formatting Headings

It is important to format headings correctly for accessibility and search engine optimization.

  • Heading 1: Note that this is only used as the main heading of the page, so you should not use it.
  • Heading 2: Use heading 2 for your highest-level headings.
  • Heading 3: If you have subheadings under heading 2, you should use heading 3.

Web design

It is important to ask yourself the following questions when designing your page:

  • Does the page appear clear and easy to navigate?
  • Is it clearly marked in the design what is most important?
  • Is the design organized and grouped in a clear and logical manner?
