News and event layout

The layout of a news item or event is determined by the page where the news is displayed (the display page). This is typically a choice that has already been made, but the layout on the display page can, of course, be changed. Contact your local web support.

News and events can be set up according to two different principles:

  • The Basic News Layout with text and images, as described in the guides Create news and Create an event.
  • Layout Using Content Elements, which requires a bit more experience. This is detailed in the guide Layout with content elements.

Do not combine the two principles mentioned above (i.e., regular news text and layout with content elements). This will result in two bylines, and the regular news text will be left-aligned while content elements will be centered.

Regardless of whether you are creating news or an event, the same element type is used in TYPO3. See examples of the four basic layouts:
