View page history

If you are unsure about the updates you or your colleagues have made to a page or news item, it can be useful to view the page's history. The history shows who did what and when, approximately up to a year back.

Additionally, you can 'roll back' to a previous point in time if you regret your own changes. Note: Rolling back is not straightforward and can easily go wrong. You risk losing changes that were actually okay. Practice on a test page first.

View history

  1. Click on the page icon in the page tree and select Change Log/Undo. You can do the same with news and events in the List module.
  2. Ensure that the settings are as shown below:
    (Show entries = 10; Show differences = Embedded; Show sub-elements = Yes)
  3. Changes in Element: In the Differences column, green text indicates a new change. Red text means that the marked content has been removed. You can see the editor's AUID in the User column.

Roll Back (Undo)

Note: Before using this option, we recommend testing it on a test page first.

You might want to revert your work to a specific point in time. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. In the Roll Back column, locate the point in time to which you want to revert your work. For instance, if you want to undo all changes made in the last 5 minutes, find that point. Click on Merge changes until this point for the chosen time.
  2. TYPO3 will list all the planned rollbacks. Click on Revert all displayed changes (most commonly used) or select individual changes by clicking on Revert a single item.
