Guide to the News Site: Omnibus

This guide pertains only to omnibus.au.dk (although links to general guides are provided in the news).

What should you know before creating a news item in TYPO3 version 10?

News items in TYPO3 version 10 are designed with a newer design compared to the rest of our content in TYPO3, specifically using our design system Delphinus. Eventually, this design is intended to be implemented across all our websites. Since it differs slightly from the design in the old TYPO3 version 6.2, there are some design principles to follow in order to make the most of the new design.

List view of news

The news list (as seen on the front page of omnibus) can be configured to present news items in different ways within the list. For this to work, ensure that on the page with the News List in the list view, list with full image width is selected. This has been set up for you.

For each news item, you can choose how it should be displayed in the list in one of the following 4 ways:

Minimized (shows with title, date, and category)

News item – detail view

You have two different options for structuring news items on omnibus.au.dk.

Standard news views

Use this when your news item only contains text and a top image, and possibly a single image that is automatically right-aligned.

You can see an example of what the standard news view might look like:

Please note that your news items are located under Articles and not Information Elements (as mentioned in the guide).

News with content elements

If you need to create a news item with images or videos placed in multiple locations within the text, or if you need to include an infobox in the news item, you can build it using content elements. See example:

Read more link in your news item

For omnibus.au.dk, a feature has been developed to highlight a link as 'Read More.' This is done by selecting both Bold and Italic formatting for the link in the editor.
